China implements a 24-hour transit visa-free policy for people from all over the world at all open ports.
Who Can Benefit
Foreigners with valid international travel documents and confirmed – seat through – tickets, traveling on international – bound aircraft, ships, or trains, and transiting through China to a third country or region, can enjoy this policy.
Requirements
If they stay in China for no more than 24 hours and do not leave the port – restricted area, they don’t need to apply for a visa.
Extra Step if Needed
However, if they need to leave the port – restricted area, they should apply for a temporary entry permit at the port immigration inspection authority.
China Travel Visa: 240-Hour Transit Visa-Free

Currently, China offers a 240-hour transit visa-free policy to people from 55 countries, including the US, Russia, and the UK.
What You Need
People from these countries need to hold valid international travel documents and through – tickets with a confirmed date and itinerary.
Entry and Stay Details
They can enter visa – free through any of the 65 open ports in 24 provinces when transiting through China to a third country or region. They can stay and move around within the designated area for up to 10 days.
Allowed Activities
During the stay, activities like traveling, doing business, paying visits, or seeing relatives are okay. But activities that need prior approval, such as working, studying, or doing news interviews, still require a proper visa.
